Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Deadset Pest Management collects, uses and looks after your personal information. I'm a small owner-operated business and I keep things simple. I only collect what I need to quote and do your job, and I never sell your email address or personal details to third parties.

I aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can read about the principles on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website.

What I collect

When you fill in a form on this website, such as the quote, inspection or contact form, I collect the details you enter. That usually means your name, phone number, email address, the property address or suburb, the type of property and a description of your pest problem. If you upload a photo, I receive that too.

I also collect details when you call, text or email me, and when I attend your property. That can include notes about the job, photos of pest activity or damage, and the treatment I carried out.

When you visit the website, analytics cookies record general information about your visit. This includes the pages you looked at, how you found the site, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your internet connection. This information doesn't tell me who you are.

How I use it

I use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
  • book, carry out and follow up on inspections and treatments
  • keep records of the work done, including what a warranty applies to
  • meet my legal, licensing and insurance obligations
  • understand how people use the website so I can improve it

I won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked for them. If you ever receive one and don't want more, tell me and I'll stop.

Who I share it with

I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. I only share it where it's needed to run the business or where the law requires it. That can include:

  • the service providers that host this website and deliver form submissions and email
  • my accountant or bookkeeper, for invoices and tax records
  • my insurer, if there's a claim
  • a government regulator or authority, if I'm legally required to provide information

This website uses some third-party services that may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics, to measure website traffic
  • Google Maps, for the map embed on the contact page
  • Google reviews, which are displayed from my Google Business Profile

Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some embedded content such as the map may not load.

How I protect it

Form submissions and job records are kept in password-protected accounts. Apart from me, the only people with access are the service providers listed above, and only as far as they need it to run those services. I keep information for as long as I need it for the job, warranty, tax and legal purposes, then delete or destroy it securely.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it if it's wrong or out of date. You can also ask me to delete your details where I don't need to keep them for legal reasons. I'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

If you have a complaint about how I've handled your information, contact me first on 0412 205 586 so I can try to fix it. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
