That's the short version. The rest of this page is for people who like to know who's coming to their house before they book.
Meet Jon
I run Deadset the way I'd want pest control done at my own place. Turn up when I say I will, explain what I find, and treat what needs treating. Nothing gets added to the job that you don't need.
I've worked in pest control for 12 years and started Deadset Pest Management in 2016. Everything since then has been built on word of mouth around Logan and the suburbs nearby, which is a good reason to do every job properly.
The name is a fair summary. In Australian slang, deadset means genuine, no fooling, and that's the standard I hold myself to when I quote a job and when I tell you what I've found in your roof void.
Being owner operated pest control also means you get the same person every time. If I treated your place last year, I already know where the bins sit, where the downpipes leak and which side of the house the ants come in on. That history makes the next visit faster and better.

Licensed, insured and Termatrac equipped
I'm a licensed pest technician and hold QBCC licence 15076438. Termite management work in Queensland falls under QBCC licensing, so it's worth asking for that number whoever you book. I'm also fully insured.
Why does it matter that your QBCC licensed termite inspector is the one doing the work? Because termite decisions are expensive. If I tell you there's activity in a wall, you need to trust that I looked properly, and you can check my licence on the QBCC register any time.
For termite inspections I carry a Termatrac iTracker. It uses radar to detect termite movement through and behind walls, ceilings and roof areas, so I can check a suspect spot without drilling or cutting. It doesn't replace a careful visual inspection, moisture checks or a good torch. It gives me another way to confirm what I'm seeing. There's more about the Termatrac and how I use it on its own page.
How I work on every job
Every treatment I apply follows Queensland Government guidelines to keep you, your family and your pets safe. Before I start, I'll tell you which areas to stay off and for how long.
I inspect first and treat second. With termite inspections that means the roof void, subfloor where there is one, the outside of the house, fences, trees and anything timber that touches the ground. With general pest control it means finding where cockroaches, ants and spiders are living and getting in, then treating those spots instead of spraying everything in sight.
I'd rather you didn't need me again for a while. So I'll point out the things that are inviting pests in. A dripping hot water system overflow, a garden bed piled against the slab, firewood stacked by the back door. Fixing those costs little or nothing and makes my treatments work harder for longer.
My internal general pest treatments carry a 12-month internal service warranty. I'll explain what that covers when I quote, so there are no surprises later.
And I answer my own phone. If I can't pick up because I'm in a roof void, I'll call you back once I'm out. After hours, a text with the best time to ring is the quickest way to reach me.

Homes, kitchens, body corporates and rentals
Family homes are the core of what I do. Units, townhouses, lowset brick homes, highset Queenslanders, acreage. I also look after a few other kinds of property where the job runs a bit differently.
Commercial kitchens need pest control that fits around trading hours and food safety rules, so I work with owners and managers to find times that suit. You can read more on the commercial pest control page.
Body corporates and strata managers usually need common areas, bin rooms and garden beds treated, and sometimes individual units too. I'm happy to coordinate with the committee or the manager directly.
Real estate property managers call me for end of lease and routine rental treatments. You get a clear record of what was done and when, which helps when it's time to sort out the bond.
Where I work
I'm a local pest controller in Logan, based in Hillcrest. My usual patch covers Logan, Brisbane's southside, Park Ridge, Redland Bay, Jimboomba, Yarrabilba, Ipswich, Beenleigh and Flagstone, plus the suburbs in between.
Keeping my area tight means less time in traffic and more time on the actual job. If you're not sure whether I come out your way, check the service areas page or just ring.
What customers say
I'd rather you hear it from the people I've worked for. My Google reviews are pulled straight onto the reviews page, so you're seeing what customers actually wrote, not a handpicked set.

We recently had Jon out to do a termite inspection and pest control. The cost was slightly more than we have paid for others but after having him out we think it was well worth it. We were impressed with his services and booked him to do a termite protection barrier. He was on time for both services and we found him to be both friendly and professional. We had a small problem with a pipe after the termite protection but Jon was out within half an hour and sorted the whole issue out for us. Would highly recommend using Deadset and we will be using them again.
